I’ve heard the frustration and despair expressed by many of my friends and acquaintances. This book is for the forgotten man or woman who wakes each day and works tirelessly to build a better life, yet feels trapped in a system that seems stacked against them.
I have also struggled with frustration, despair, and internal conflicts about political and economic issues. A deep unease churned within me about our society’s political and economic trajectory, but I struggled to articulate my thoughts clearly. Unrelenting and consuming disquiet tormented my soul. Fortunately, I discovered the classic works on the philosophy of individual liberty. It felt as if I had put on a pair of glasses for the first time. Everything suddenly became clear. The confusion and turmoil faded into understanding, and I gained a profound sense of inner peace.
I wrote this book to share that clarity by presenting the fundamental principles and history of individual liberty in a brief and clear manner. I hope it helps you better understand these ideas and inspires you to advocate for them.
As government spending and regulation continue to grow, we are accelerating down the road to serfdom. However, by working together as advocates for individual liberty, we can change our society’s trajectory, defeat the forces of tyranny, and rise upward to liberty!
